2018 China Geothermal Energy International Forum held in Shanghai
2018 China Geothermal Energy International Forum, hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Sinopec, was held in Shanghai on November 27-28. According to the Forum, Sinopec has built 10 smokeless cities nationwide by replacing coal with geothermal energy. China plans to increase 1.1 billion sq m geothermal heating area during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period.
Sinopec will replace coal with geothermal energy in 20 cities nationwide by 2023 and boost its geothermal heating capacity to more than 120 million cubic meters by 2023, it said at the Forum.
